Is it really free?
Yes. Every one of the 55 tools is free, with no file limits, no watermarks and no account. Mabuy's Kit is a static site, so there is no server bill to pass on to you.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
Never. The PDF engines (including a WebAssembly build of pdf.js and pdf-lib) are downloaded to your browser once, and every operation runs locally. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and everything still works.
Does it work offline or on mobile?
Yes. Because processing happens in the browser, the tools work on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Load the page once and you can even go offline: nothing is sent anywhere.
What is the catch? Why is it free?
There is no catch: no ads, no trackers, no data selling. Privacy-first tooling is a better default, and building it in the open keeps it honest. If you find it useful, sharing it helps.
Are there file size limits?
No artificial limits: the only ceiling is your device’s memory. Files up to a few hundred megabytes work well on a modern laptop; massive scans are better handled on a desktop than a phone.
Can I use it on confidential documents?
That is exactly what it is designed for. Contracts, medical records and legal documents never leave your machine, which keeps you aligned with GDPR, HIPAA and CCPA requirements without a data-processing agreement.
